The Bay Area Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society presented:
Arizona v. United States: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Was the Supreme Court's decision regarding Arizona's anti-immigrant law a victory or a loss in the fight for immigrants' rights?
On July 25, 2012, the Bay Area Lawyer Chapter of ACS presented a panel discussion with Tom Saenz of MALDEF and Lucas Guttentag of Yale Law School and founding director of the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project, moderated by chapter board member Greta Hansen. With more than seventy lawyers and students in attendance, the panelists discussed the Supreme Court's recent decision in Arizona v. United States, recent litigation to enjoin the remaining section of Arizona's law (AB 1070), and the White House's evolving approach to immigration policy and enforcement.
